Getting started
Your first 5 minutes
Sign in, describe one chore, look at the plan, try a practice run, and approve one step on the Runs page.
Before you start
You need an account. Open the sign-in page and choose Create account (or Sign in if you have one). You enter an email address and a password of at least 10 characters. More about this is on Your account and your data.
You do not need to connect any app for your first try. A plan can be saved and practiced with nothing connected.
The five steps
- Describe a chore. On the Workspace page, type a chore in the box. Not sure what to type? Tap one of the three example sentences under the box, then press the round arrow button (or press Enter). See The workspace.
- Read the plan. Hushwork shows a list of steps and the words "Nothing will be sent." Nothing runs yet.
- Open it in the Builder. Press Open in the Builder. This saves the plan as a draft and opens it where you can change every step. See The Builder and its blocks.
- Save and practice. If you changed anything in the Builder, press Save changes. Then go to Workflows and press Run. This is a practice run. It lists what each step would do and sends nothing.
- Approve one step. Open the Runs page. Each step that does something real shows a card with the exact words. Read it and press Approve.
Note: In the default Manual mode, even a step that only reads (like asking the AI) waits for your Approve. A step that needs an app you have not connected tells you so.
The Getting started card
On the Workspace page you may see a card called Getting started: 3 small steps. It ticks itself from what you really did:
- Say what you want. You saved a workflow.
- Practice it. You started a run.
- Approve one step. You approved something on the Runs page.
The card goes away after the third step.
Try it: a plan that needs nothing
Open Templates and pick Is my website up?. It is the one ready-made template marked "Works now", because it needs no app. It reads one web page and tells you if it looks like a working site. Change the address in the step to your own site, save it, run it, and approve the AI step on the Runs page.
Connecting apps
Most useful plans read from an app, like Gmail or Linear. To connect one, open Connections. Start with the Connections overview. Press Test all my connections afterward to see which ones work.
If the AI box says it is off
If AI planning is off, or you switch off Write with AI, Hushwork makes a simpler keyword preview in your browser. Your text is not sent to an AI service. You can still save it and open it in the Builder.
