Using Hushwork
Templates
Templates are 33 ready-made workflows, in five packs, that open in the Builder so you can change every step before you use them.
How templates work
Open Templates in the menu. Pick a pack button (All, Everyday, Finance, Marketing, Coding or Design). Each card shows what the workflow does, a tag such as "Works with Google, Gmail (send)", the kinds of step, and how many steps it has. Press the card to Open in the Builder.
A template is only a starting point. Nothing runs by itself. Every template that writes something still waits for your Approve on the Runs page.
The pack you pick is remembered in this browser.
The packs
| Pack | Count | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Everyday | 15 | Inbox, calendar, files and tasks |
| Finance | 5 | Payments, invoices and receipts |
| Marketing | 5 | Ideas, pages and writing time |
| Coding | 4 | GitHub, tasks and incidents |
| Design | 4 | Reviews, feedback and focus time |
What each one needs
Only one template needs no app at all: Is my website up?. Its tag says "Works now". It reads one web page you name.
The rest need an app connected first. See the Connections overview.
| You need | Examples |
|---|---|
| Nothing | Is my website up? |
| Gmail (send) only | Send a formal hello email, Five post ideas by email, Check my landing page and email me |
| What is in my inbox? What did I work on lately? My week ahead | |
| Google and Gmail (send) | Email me my week ahead, Sort your inbox, Receipts and invoices I saved, by email, Feedback roundup by email |
| Linear | Which task should I do first? Weekly design review task |
| Linear and Gmail (send) | Send a weekly client report, Email me my top task |
| Google and Linear | Turn my latest email into a task, Follow up new leads, Test all my connections |
| Stripe and Gmail (send) | Weekly Stripe summary by email, Chase unpaid invoices |
| GitHub | Weekly dependency check issue |
| GitHub and Gmail (send) | GitHub digest by email |
| GitHub and Linear | Turn a GitHub notification into a Linear task |
| PagerDuty and Gmail (send) | Incident digest by email |
| Google Calendar (events) | Block writing time on my calendar, Block design focus time on my calendar |
| Google and Notion | Launch notes page in Notion, Design log page in Notion |
Note: "Google" and "Gmail (send)" are two separate connections. Google lets Hushwork read your Calendar, Gmail senders and subjects, and Drive file names. Gmail (send) is what lets it send an email, after you Approve.
Suggested schedules
16 templates come with a suggested time, for example "Every week on Monday at 09:00". A template whose Start step says "On a schedule" with a time Hushwork can read gets a real schedule when you save it. The schedule starts with writing switched off. The Save message tells you. See Schedules.
Fill in the blanks
Some templates hold example values you must change before they work:
- Notion pages use an all-zero page id. It is refused until you put in your own.
- GitHub issue templates say
your-name/your-repo. - Calendar event templates use example dates and times.
- Web page templates use
https://example.com/. - Emails go to
{myEmail}, which means your own address.
Try it
- Open Templates and pick Everyday.
- Press Is my website up?, then change the web address to your own site.
- Press Save, go to Workflows, and press Run.
- On Runs, press Approve on the AI step.
